All sales are CASH ONLY, and the cut off for purchasing a yearbook or buying a dedication page is May 2, 2024. Attached is what the form will look like. (It should be on hot pink paper.)
Please remember if you have not completed the Opt-In form, either on-line or a physical copy, your student will NOT appear in the yearbook.

Good Evening Bear Family -
This week is a short week for students and staff. We will begin our week with Report Cards being issued. I just finished reviewing report cards for distribution tomorrow, and parents -please note that students must be making 60 or higher in each class, in order to be promoted to the next grade level. Also, attendance matters - students may not miss more than 85% of the school year, in order to be promoted. Lastly, NCPS will only have Summer Scholars Academy (Summer School) for grades 2nd and 3rd for enrichment purposes only. Tomorrow night, Monday, March 25, we will have our Englewood’s Youth Arts Night at 6 pm. Admission is $3 per person or $10 for a family of 4. We are raising funds for our Art and Athletics programs. Our students have worked hard to prepare for this event. We have our 4th grade field trip on Wednesday to Sky Vu for STEM activities. On Thursday, we will have our PBIS Celebration for the 3rd 9 weeks, and we will have our March Madness Finale on 7-12 multiplication products. We will begin our Spring Break on Friday. No school for students or staff on Friday of this week. We will return from Spring Break on April 8th.

We sent home a parent survey at the Curriculum Night, we would love for all parents to complete this survey. This survey will provide information for the administration at Englewood to support school improvement and outreach. Please complete this survey by Monday, March 25th. Join us to celebrate the brilliance of Nash County Public Schools' students at our Celebration of the Arts! This event showcases artwork from students across the district. After the celebration, the artwork will be displayed at the Braswell Memorial Library throughout the month of April. Congratulations to our Battle of the Books Team for taking 3rd Place last week during the NCPS Battle of the Books Competition. Just a reminder that the grading period ends tomorrow, Monday, March 18. If students are not passing their courses, there is no option for Summer School this year. Students will be retained. Only Grades 2nd and 3rd will have an option for Summer School; however, this is not a process in passing their grades, it is for enrichment purposes only.
We have our Brick City Competition on Friday, and our 3rd Graders will be traveling to the Durham Life and Science Museum on Friday.
We have our Youth Arts Night on Monday, March 25th from 6 pm until 7:30 pm at EES. Tickets are on sale for $3.00 per person or $10.00 for a family of four. This is a fundraiser for our Arts and Athletics Programs. We have 20 student participants in this show.

We will begin with dinner at 5:30 in the Multipurpose Room, then move to areas for specifically grades 3-5. We will end at 6:30 pm. This week is Read Across America week. We are celebrating by participating in One School, One Book by reading the book, “A Fish in a Tree” in our classrooms. Students will be reading the book with their teachers. Students can also participate in having a Book Exchange. Students can bring a book from home to donate to the library, then they can choose a book to take home to read and keep. In addition, students can dress up like their favorite book character on Friday of this week. (No masks or hats allowed). On Wednesday, we will have our yearly Tornado Drill. We practice these drills, just in case there is an issue ever on our campus. Please make sure that you complete the Google form for signing up to attend the Spring Curriculum Night on March 12.
