Good Evening Bear Family -
We cannot believe that we only have 13 days until EOGs, and we have a lot going on for the remainder of the year. Phone Calls and Conferences will be scheduled based on Retention Letters being returned. If you have not turned in your letter, please send it back to school. Our 5th graders will be taking the NC-Check In for Science on Monday. Please make sure that your child is at school on time for this last benchmark assessment. Wednesday is an Early Release Day for students. Students will dismiss at 1 pm on this day. Please make sure that someone is at the bus stop to meet your student early on Wednesday.
Please remember that yearbooks and dedication pages are on sale now. You can purchase a yearbook for $20.00 (cash only) until May 2nd. No yearbooks will be sold after May 2nd. Lastly, please check the district website under the Bus tab for the proposed 2024-2025 Boundaries. These maps will be voted on by our board on May 6. Our students will either be attending Winstead Avenue Elementary, Edwards Elementary, or Englewood Elementary. All 3 schools will be K-5 schools in August. If you have any questions, please contact the office. We can assist you with how to access this information.
Lastly, we will be having a Mini Book Fair May 7 - 9. Mrs. Mennig would love to have volunteers to assist, please message her in Thrillshare if you are available to help her on these 3 days.

If you missed our Glee Club performance of “Freedom” on Friday, you missed a treat. Our students did a great job! Monday, Progress Reports and Retention Letters go home. Please remember that there is only Summer School for Grades 2nd and 3rd. Students must be passing with a 60 or higher, in order to go onto the next grade level. Tuesday evening, we have a virtual PTA at 6pm.

Good Evening Bear Family -
We had a great weekend celebrating with our Bears! Congratulations to our girls and boys basketball teams for winning the NCPS Elementary Basketball League Championships this weekend. We are so proud of our players, staff, and cheerleaders! Monday evening, our NCPS Central Office will have a Community Forum regarding the new district attendance zone lines at Winstead Avenue at 6 pm. Also, this week, we will continue with our makeup benchmarks testing for Reading and Math through Wednesday. Wednesday, we have an Early Release Day; students will be dismissed at 1 pm. Our Glee Club will perform their musical, Freedom, on Friday evening at 6 pm. This will take place at Englewood Presbyterian, across the street from the school. After the performance, Winstead Avenue Elementary is having a Carnival on their campus. Feel free to support both schools by attending each event.

Our boys basketball team won the NCPS Elementary Basketball League Championship game. They were undefeated the entire season! We are so proud of our boys! Go Bears!

Our girls basketball team just won the Elementary Basketball League for Nash County Public Schools! Congrats to our girls for a great season. We are so proud!

Good Afternoon Bear Family -
Our girls and boys basketball teams will play in the Championship games around 3:15 pm today at Nashville Elementary School. Admission is $3.00 per person. Come out and cheer for our teams!

There are 2 opportunities for fun next Friday, April 19. Our Glee Club will be performing at Englewood Presbyterian at 6 pm, which is across the street from our school. After our Glee Club performs, please feel free to go to our sister school, Winstead Avenue for their Carnival. Please support our two schools in our area.
