11th grade will be going to NC State on March 7th. Please notify your NCC instructors if you plan on attending this college trip. AVID teachers will hand out all permission slips starting tomorrow 2/28/2024. Permission slips will be due to your AVID teachers By March 5th, 2024 before 10 am. NCSU is a cashless campus so you will need a bank card to buy lunch. See Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Sweet if you have questions or concerns.
Today, February 28 is the last day to pre-order your yearbook. After today yearbooks will be sold on a first come first serve basis. You can continue to purchase yearbooks online, but only a limited amount will be available after Feb. 28. You can purchase your yearbook by visiting jostens.com or scanning the QR code on the signs at each Early college entrance.

This is Principal McGeachy with a few updates as we begin the final week of February!
This week, our scholars will be involved in testing on Monday and Tuesday. Scholars enrolled in Biology will take a benchmark assessment on Monday, and our Junior scholars will take the ACT test on Tuesday.
On Thursday, February 29th, Nash Community College will host a FAFSA Family Night in the campus library from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Mark your calendars for two events that will take during the week of March 4th. On March 5th, we will hold our National Honor Society Induction Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. in the Brown Auditorium. On March 8th, we will hold our Black History Month/Women's History Month Program at 10:00 a.m. in the Brown Auditorium. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Shanta’ Hinton. Dr. Hinton is a graduate of Nash County Public Schools (Rocky Mount H.S.) and currently serves as a Professor of Biology at William and Mary.

I’ll start by thanking our Super Seniors for organizing last night’s Valentine’s Dance. The decorations for the event were first class, and all of our scholars looked great and seemed to enjoy themselves.
Our National Honor Society scholars will host a School Spirit Night on Tuesday, February 20th, at the Zaxby’s in Nashville. This event will run from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., and a portion of all sales generated during that time will go to our scholars.
Lastly, on February 29th, Nash Community College will host a FAFSA Family Night from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the campus library.

She was born on March 3, 1872, in Talbotton, Georgia, during a time of racial segregation and limited educational opportunities for African Americans.
