Her are a few announcements for the upcoming week:
Monday we will be administering the second North Carolina Math Check in. This is one of 3 benchmark assessments used to evaluate student and teacher performance.
Thursday will be our PBIS dance. This will be from 4pm to 6pm here at school. Students that receive a referral, will not be allowed to attend. This will be communicated to those students. Thiose able to attend will also have a uniform free day Thursday. We will have concessions available and all rides should be here by 5:45 to pick up students.
There is no school Friday 2/9 as this is a Teacher workday.
Please remember to sign the Model Release form for your student to be included in our school yearbook. Please see the link on our website and attached.

Definition of a Soft Lockdown: A soft lockdown is a proactive response to a potential threat when the credibility of the situation has yet to be determined. Law enforcement is conducting an ongoing investigation, and the safety of our school remains paramount. There will be an increased law enforcement presence both within and around the school to ensure the safety and security of our campus. We remain committed to providing updates as the situation progresses.

Good evening Red Oak Family! Here are a few important announcements: Our Wrestling team will host the county championships at Red Oak tomorrow.matches begin at 5pm. Boys Basketball will play at Forest Hills in Wilson on Thursday in the Tri-counties semifinal game. Game-time is 5:30. Please sign the model release form for your students. This can be found online or we can provide a hard copy. Please remember to pay your lunch fees if you currently have a balance. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

Advanced Placement (AP®) courses are college-level courses offered in high school. Students take AP Exams at the end of the course, measuring their mastery of college-level work. Let's keep attendance and academics our top priority! There will not be a summer school opportunity this year for middle school students. In athletics:basketball has games Monday at home vs Edwards, Tuesday at Springfield, and Thursday at home vs Southern. Wrestling has a meet at Edwards Monday and at Southern Thursday.

Nash County Public Schools will start on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, to ensure the safety of the road conditions.
Due to recent weather forecasts and prioritizing the safety of our students, families, and staff, Nash County Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 17. This decision follows the latest update from the National Weather Service in Raleigh.
The forecast indicates the possibility of isolated, patchy ice on pavements tonight and tomorrow morning. Furthermore, they anticipate sub-freezing temperatures in the morning, potentially dropping as low as 23 degrees, with a wind chill factor of 12 to 15 degrees.
Revised Schedule for January 17, 2024:
- Traditional High School: 9:30 a.m.
- Elementary School: 10:00 a.m.
- Middle School: 10:30 a.m.
- Tar River Academy and CITI High School: 11:00 a.m.
- Nash-Rocky Mount Early College High School: 11:30 a.m.
Breakfast will be available at schools. Students may be dropped off 40 minutes prior to the start of their school. If you ride the bus - please be on the lookout for transportation updates in the morning.
